Assembling

A traveling branch of Interspecies Library, highlighting short run and self-published printed material on multispecies kinship.

Holding

ILZA takes the form of an itinerant display structure and graphic identity which brings together a collection of zines from artists and researchers with a shared interest in more-than-human connection.

Shedding

The display structure emphasizes ephemerality and accessibility in materials and fabrication methods, reflecting the cultural spirit of the zines it holds.

The structure’s components are designed to address multiple afterlives beyond the exhibition's duration. Its modular ceramic parts can be repurposed as plant pots, bee habitats, birdhouses and other forms of cross-species infrastructure.

Accompanying the exhibition is a limited run, riso-printed bookmark handmade from a mushroom blend of Reishi, Warnier's Polypore, and okra cellulose.
